The Line 6 DL4 is the latest in innovative stomp boxes from Line 6. The DL4 model features sixteen digital effects and has eighteen factory presets that are built in. On top of the presets it also allows for three channels that can be used for user programming. The DL4 has a number of controls that you can use to tweak the effects with including an effects selector, delay time, repeats, tweak, tweez and mix map tempo. It weighs only 3.1 pounds and is 10″x6″x2.5″.
This stompbox is a very versatile unit which is capable of of many effects from getting that classic U2 “The Edge” delay sounds to wild ping-pong type effects. Not only does it have some awesome built in effects for you to play around with, but you can also program your very own custom sounds and practice along with the built in line 6 DL4 loop. It has a fourteen second loop feature that lets you create your very own custom loops to practice along with or accompany you when you play live as a background track. It also has the ability to give you those reverse guitar solo sounds on the spot and an auto-volume echo for amazing sounding volume swells with your guitar.
All of the Line 6 DL4 settings let you get the most of any delay or echo type sounds. It comes jammed packed with delay and echo models including: Tube Echo, Sweep Echo, Tape Echo, Lo Res Delay, Dynamic Delay, Stereo Delays and so much more.
Many famous artists like Ed O’Brien from Radiohead and Lyle Workman who play s with Beck, and Sting utilize the DL4 in the studio and playing live.
You can also add on an optional EX-1 expression pedal which gives you the ability to switch between different Line 6 DL4 settings and the Line 6 DL4 power supply can keep your unit going for hours of playing enjoyment without having to change the batteries. You can expect about twenty to thirty hours of battery life if you opt not to buy the power supply for an extra twenty dollars.
This unit is a great addition to your collection of stompboxes and a great compliment for the Line 6 FM4 series. The DL4 is very quiet and sounds clean with it’s pure 24 bit resolution. It can run in discrete stereo so the left and right stay where they should be when hooking the unit up to multiple guitar amplifiers.
